5 WAYS TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

…As seen on Wedding Sparrow

“Wedding Photography is a big investment! It should be! At the end of the day, this is what’s left to help you remember all of the gorgeous details and unforgettable moments. So in order for you to feel confident you’re getting the most out of your investment, we have Fine Art Curation member Kate from Lost Coast Photography to give brides 5 ideas on how you can make the most of that investment…”

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Engagement shoots are a lot of fun! They don’t have the same time constraints that weddings have, so you have a good amount of time to perfect your moves and practice for the big day. By the time your wedding day roles around, you’re practically a supermodel! Plus, you and your photographer will become quick friends after having a blast hanging out together!

An Engagement session is a wonderful way to celebrate this exciting time in your life! It can represent you as a couple in whatever way you like! For some, that’s making the session a fun fashion moment- an excuse to get dressed up, have your hair and makeup done, and have it all documented in a beautiful way. For others, it’s a chance to help tell the story of who you are as a couple – more relaxed and just loving time together at one of your favorite places.

BRIDAL SESSION

Here are a couple of reasons why a Bridal session can help make the most of your wedding photography …

Bridal portraits give you a bit more posing practice. Much like your engagement session, your bridal session will give you more one-on-one time with your photographer. You also get the chance to practice moving and posing in your wedding dress. When the big day arrives, you’ll be a pro!

Capture beautiful, stress-free bridal portraits. You’ll still have photos taken of just you on your wedding day, but this is a chance to get extra special images without being worried about your timeline. You’re going to spend so much time planning out your bridal “look”, it makes sense to dedicate an hour or two of bridal photography to capture all of your hard work! Plus, I personally think it’s a lot of fun!

FINE ART BOUDOIR SESSION

Fine Art Boudoir is an art form that is uniquely empowering. Watching the transformation in a bride as she grows in confidence in front of the camera and discovers something within herself is mutually inspiring. It’s feminine beauty in the purest form. First and foremost, be in the moment and take a deep breath, you’re in good hands. Hiring your wedding photographer for a Fine Art Boudoir session will give your gallery and wedding album that fine art consistency, rather than rushed getting ready images. Think lots of natural light and a relaxed vibe, soft silks, and French lace. Channel your inner Daphne Bridgerton and have fun, your soon-to-be husband will thank you!

PRE-WEDDING STYLING SESSION

As the Bride, you’ve chosen all of the little details for your wedding, from your hand-calligraphed invitation suite to your heirloom jewelry, your antique ring box to your custom monogram. Another way to get the most from your wedding photography is to hire your photographer for a pre-wedding day Styling session. These are usually done the day before your wedding so that your florals can be included. This is the perfect opportunity for all of your beautiful details to be captured in the best light and with ample time since wedding day timelines can be so tight. After spending so much effort sourcing and investing in all your details, it’s only fair to have them photographed beautifully and to the fullest extent!

HEIRLOOMS

Honoring yourself with heirloom albums and prints, is the last stop in making the most of your wedding photography. Being able to physically hold your memories is so much better than scrolling through them on your phone or your computer, I promise. At the end of the day, your wedding cake gets eaten, your flowers wilt, and your dress gets hung in the closet. The only thing left from your wedding day is your collection of photos, and to be able to tangibly hold those images is a gift! Your album will endure any technological changes, and be passed down for generations. Imagine years from now, sitting with your grandchildren as they run their little fingers down the leather binding and hold in their tiny hands your everlasting family heirloom. You won’t regret making an album part of your wedding photography investment!
